Racism Ku Klux Klan, Neo Nazis, Aryan Nations Essays - Racism

Racism: Ku Klux Klan, Neo Nazis, Aryan Nations Ku Klux Klan. Neo Nazis. The Aryan Nations. The American Nazi Party. What are these groups? Why are they present in a land of supposed equality of all men? They are there because there are millions of Americans that believe in their message of white pride. The African American population is growing and Americans are now a mixed group of people. Black people are white people's neighbours, doctors, friends. With a growing unity between the two races, why does racism continue? The answer is simple. Racists from many years ago raise their kids in clans and white supremacy groups and teach them the ways of hatred. These kids grow up brain-washed that black people are their enemies and, taught by example, will continue this trend (The Volume Library; 1988). The Ku Klux Klan has been around since the end of the civil war. It is a roller coaster of a history. From extreme power, to rapid decline, and slow reemergence (Software Toolworks Encyclopedia; 1992). The clan, who is notorious for its violence, has a relatively innocent beginning. It was formed from some veterans from the confederate army and was first called the Kuklos Clan which, in Greek, meant Circle Clan. One person thought it would be a good idea to call it the Ku Klux Klan as a parody of the fraternity names which always had three Greek alphabet letters in it. They created the Clan to be mischievous and to do it without anyone knowing who they were which accounts for their costumes and masks. They, like most whites, were upset that the black people were free because black people were a constant reminder of the bitter defeat of the South. So to have fun they terrorized black people. Eventually the group grew, fluctuating, but grew to become the first white supremacy group in America and with that growth, their hatred grew as well into what was seen in the early and middle 1900's and what is seen today. Along with the KKK, other anti-black, pro-white groups formed and stemmed out all over the U.S.A. The Neo Nazis who are more commonly know by the term Skin Heads, are a growing force in hate groups. There hatred of Hispanics, Jews, Blacks, and others are now the fastest growing force in America. The Skin Head movement is usually done by the younger kids. These kids are drawn to the Aryan Nations and Neo Nazis by the promise of free drugs, free booze, heavy metal music, ultimate freedom and rebellion. A lot of these kids stay because of family troubles at home and, like in a gang, feel like they have a family with the group and feel loved. The skinheads are a family... A lot of us don't have what you'd call a home commented Joshua, who is a 16 year old recruiter in California (United They Hate; Michael Kronenwetter). The race war was in full force by the 1960's. With the growth of white supremacy and their groups, black too had a weapon. Martin Luther King Jr. lead his people to march in Washington to end segregation and to form black unity for an equal and better America. Malcolm X, who was a Muslim, may have come from a different religion than his Christian counterpart, but had a very similar message and a similar fate. Both were assassinated. Today the hate groups of America have spread into Canada and are particularly common in Manitoba. The major sects are of the same name as their American cousins with a very similar message. Racism, despite much opposition, will never end. As long as there is fighting among a Jew and a Palestinian or hatred between a white and a black, Racism will be there. Only a utopian society can achieve such a dream. It is in human nature to have a few people that do not understand or possibly hate those who are different but, in fact, we are not different, we are judgmental and we are discriminatory, we segregate. We are unique individuals but among races we are equal and the same. Bibliography I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by

M The Movie essays

M The Movie essays Always there is this terrible voice force inside of me driving me on. Im always afraid of myself, of people, of ghost, always I must walk streets alone, and always I am followed soundlessly. Yet I hear it. Its me pursuing myself. I want to run to escape from myself but I cant. I cant escape I must obey. Forced to run endless streets, pursued by ghost, ghost of mothers and of those of children. They are always there, always. Except when I. Then I cant remember anything. And afterwards I see those posters, I think, did I do that? But I dont remember it! But who will believe me? Who knows what its like to be me? How im forced to act. How I must, must, dont want to. But must! And then a voice screams. I cant bear to hear it. I cant go on. I cant go on. I cant go on. In the movie M we see a murderer torment a city by killing there children. On the outside this person is just like anyone else. He goes about his business and goes through his day just like anyone else. But then these certain things happen that bring out this different person. This person has no control over himself and what he does. He does not think along the lines of a normal rational person. He is totally taken over by this mental illness and acts in such a way that he does not want to but yes feels as if he is forces to. He cant bear to hear it or do what he does yet he has no control over it always feeling as if he is being pursued by this deeper darker thing inside of him. Then afterwards when he sees the terrible things he has done he cant even believe that it was him. It is obvious that he has an uncontrollable mental illness and that certain things bring out these uncontrollable murderous actions and are able to be seen which are the casting of dark shadows, when he whistles his certain tune, the way he plays with is knife, seeing c...

Provisional Measures Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Provisional Measures - Assignment Example Provisional measures in international arbitration can be dictated for the purpose of: a) Preserving the legitimate rights of the requesting party before the decision on the merits of the case (Interim Award ICC 8786). b) Ensuring the security of amount incurred in dispute in the arbitration process. c) To preserve or inspect any property that relates to rage dispute in the arbitration process. d) Provisional injection of a receiver. e) Any other provisional measure that the Court deem otherwise. Ordering a party to provide security (Charles Construction Co v Derderiamn). Question 24 In cases of urgency, the arbitral tribunal may, upon application of a party, order provisional measure, as it deem necessary. Such normally happens when preservation of evidence or assets is the primary goal. Ideally, arbitral tribunal has such provision to prevent other courts from supping the powers of arbitral teams. Lastly, tribunal always consults with parties before ordering interim measures but sometimes they may not if parties fail to agree. Question 25 a) In the Van Uden Case of 1998, European Court had to determine whether the provisional measure was necessary for Brussels Convention while arbitration was pending in Netherlands. b) Yes. The statement is relevant because it provides a platform that discourages courts from supping the powers of the arbitral tribunal, an occurrence that can significantly influence the outcome of the arbitration process. In other words, the courts can only issue provisional measures when the tribunal cannot do so.

Meniscus Injuries and MRI Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3750 words

Meniscus Injuries and MRI - Research Paper Example This means that in some anatomical locations, some tear will heal quickly even spontaneously, and in some types of tears, healing would need surgical interventions (Ballas & Stillman, 2009). Therefore, prior diagnosis of the location, disposition, depth, orientation, and extent of the meniscal tear becomes of utmost importance, since this would facilitate the optimum treatment and outcomes within the shortest possible time. This specific dilemma has two parts, one questionable accuracy magnetic resonance imaging studies and failure of appropriate interpretation of the images to lead to a definitive diagnosis unequivocally (Luhmann, Schootman, Gordon, & Wright, 2005). On the other hand, delay for allowance of development of suggestive clinical signs or symptoms may lead to permanent damage. Before going into the details of these issues, it would thus be necessary to establish the facts that are known in each of these issues with an attempt to find relevance between these two, so the evidence base may be available for guiding practice. This issue has been dealt with in adequate detail in prior researches, and thus there is a need for extended literature review to glean what is known. Apart from establishing evidence from the known, it would also serve the purpose of identification of the gaps, so further research may be conducted on these suggestions. Rationale of the Literature Review Mesiha et al. (2006) indicated the tricky nature of human meniscal healing following injury. It has been observed that meniscus often fails to heal when the injury has caused a tear of more than 1 cm. similar phenomena have been observed when the tear involves the internal two-thirds of the meniscus (Mesiha, Zurakowski, Soriano, Nielson, Zarins, & Murray, 2006). Menetrey and colleagues (2002) reported failure of healing of peripheral meniscal tears. The failure of recognition of meniscal tears is so rife that, some authors suggested very high meniscal repair failure rates (Menetrey, Siegrist, & Fritschy, 2002). As Venkatachalam et al. (2001) indicated the healing failure may be very high since many patients remain asymptomatic even with an existing tear of the meniscus (Venkatachalam, Godsiff, & Harding, 2001) . It can be deduced from these studies that although magnetic resonance imaging is available as a diagnostic imaging modality for meniscal injuries, it is questionable whether routine magnetic resonance imaging would be advisable for all suspected cases of meniscal injury or whether in all such cases even after the imaging is done, it would be rational for a radiologist to interpret the image in order to arrive at a diagnosis. Research Question This leads to the research question for this study which is whether routine magnetic resonance imaging for all suspected cases of meniscal tears is optimal, appropriate, or necessary diagnostic modality If it

Campbell Soup Essay Example for Free

Campbell Soup Essay Campbell Soup Company (CSC) was a diversified food processor known for its strong brands and product quality. One of its products is produce ready-to-serve soups for customer who is not able to make soup. Formerly, Campbells products spread all over 3 segments of condensed soups, ready-to-serve soups and dry soup, and it is considering to expand its product to microwavable soups to make customer more convenient for preparing soup without container. The following figure showed the foundation of CSC. CSC used its engineering support and diversified production line to support customers with convenient, good taste and quality food. CSC is a decentralized company; its strategy is to diversify its business to product several products, and expand its marketing share. Something behind the diversified production line, used to support its operating system, is its CIRT and CCID department. Those are charged with process RD, product development, packaging and engineering systems. CSC used production line for its operating system. The advantage of it is to reduce WIP among the process, and it required high quality and stable operating system to avoid the unexpected shut down. Symptom CSC is developing a new product of microwavable soup, which is assigned to Plastigon line in the early 1980s. However, the Plastigon line is taking so long for result. Because of this, Elsner was assigned to resolve Plastigons technical problems and make Campbells engineering more effective and efficient. Problem 1.Conflict between organization and development process From the current CSCs product development process of task forces, we know CSC would appoint the appropriate engineer from any department in charge of the new process. The advantage of this way is more flexible and superior because everyone has the suitable skill in charge of the new process.  However, there is no clear assignment of who is responsible to run this project team. That caused nobody took it to be their obligation, they actually wanted less and less to be involved. Their position was, Wait until its a proven process and then CSC will be ready to accept the line for their operation. Otherwise, coordination between engineers form various groups was difficult because often the engineers were not at the plant at the same time. Even when some were present, they had their own tests to run and not usually were not interested in running the line as a whole. This situation caused the other problem that the problem of the other part of production line would occur when the problem of one part was resolved due to incoordination among all parts. 2.Production process As we know, the production process which CSC used is production line, which can be described the products are manufacturing as a continuous flow. Production line requires standard and stable process with good quality to avoid occurring shut-down. If one part was shut-down, that would influence other parts. Suggestion Aiming at conflict between organization and development process, the problem is due to the structure of organization is different from development process. The organization is decentralized, but RD is centralized. However, because different product has different feature, RD should have different knowledge and experiment in charge in different product. For example, microwavable soup can be used by microwave, so it requires different material, and RD has to consider the different point and set up a suitable process for it. At this point, I suggest CSC decentralizes its RD into different product. When CSC decides to produce a new product, they should take appropriate engineers from RD, and make a subgroup for the new product. After that, set up a pilot for this group who is responsible for this production line, and integrate whole engineers. Engineers have different expertise in their area, so how to coordinate them to devote their  knowledge to this production line is also a crucial point. The duty of the pilot is to lead this group and responsible for proving this process. Using this way, the subgroup has to transfer to the new plant, which would reduce the transit times by using centralization. Furthermore, engineers would run their part at the same time, which would improve the efficiency of the process. Second, CSC used production line for its process; however, it would make whole process shut-down if any part was in trouble. Otherwise, the most parts of this process are made by human resources. The efficiency of each person decides the efficiency of whole process. If workers have different efficiency, that would cause the process not continuous. It means idol time would occur between each part. To resolve this problem, I suggest CSC change its process from production line to job-shop. Although job-shop would produce more WIP, the influence would be reduced by using this way, and the process would not entirely shut down. That makes the whole process produce smoothly, and standard. Furthermore, aiming at the point of the most parts of this process is made by human resources. I suggest CSC should prepare Quality System Document and on-the-job training program with handbook which can help workers to familiar with whole process and operation soon. If training program and handbook are more detailed, workers are easy to find answers from them for their questions without the instruction of supervisor, and help them become skillful operators.

Ip History :: Essays Papers

Ip History Recent years saw huge increase in Internet growth there were 40,073 networks on Internet (as of 10/4/94) and it was doubling approximately every 12 months. The current version (IPv4) of Internet Protocol was sufficient for 20 years, but if Internet will continue to grow, pretty soon we will run out of addresses for all connections because IPv4 can handle only 32 bit addresses (which are millions of connections). This is the major drawback of IPv4. The other issues is that IPv4 was not designed to handle real time applications such as video and audio efficiently and IPv4 can create a lot of fragmentation due to the lack of ability to predict or detect the bottlenecks in the packet’s path. The next generation of IP was designed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to handle all of these problems and was first presented on July 25, 1994 in Toronto. Thou structurally it is very different from IPv4; it still incorporates all the successful features of IPv4 like its ability to adapt to many topologies or technologies at the same time. IPv6 is increasing address format from 32 bits to 128 bits. This increase gave 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 addresses (should be more that the packet since switching the paths for each packet will degrade performance of the network. You (well the protocol) can request the unbreakable path, for the applications successfully transmit high quality video and audio over the net. Another great advantage of IPv6 is its compatibility with the IPv4. This will make transition between these two versions painless. Because it doesn't matter how well a new protocol is if there is nopractical way to transition the current operational systems running IPv4 to the new protocol. Structurally both versions are also different. They have different datagram systems and unlike IPv4, IPv6 does not specify all the possible protocol features, this makes it more adaptable to the user’s needs. The datagram in IPv6 consists of Base Header, Optional Extension Headers, and the Data Area. The Base Header is twice as large than in IPv4 due to the added extra 96 bits to the each destination and source addresses, but it actually contains less data. It contains: VERS – for version IPv6, PRIORITY – specifies the urgency 0 Uncharacterized traffic 1 "Filler" traffic (e.g., Netnews) 2 Unattended data transfer (e.g., email) 3 (Reserved)

However, I believe that my chosen career path should base on the source of my passion and interest in order to ensure a long term success in life. Therefore, when it comes to my interest and passion, the first thing that came into my mind would be dancing. Being a dancer since I was three years old, I always dreamt of having a company of my own which manages dancers from all around the world. To be specific, my chosen career would be the director of a dance company. The main reason for choosing this career, of course, is because of my passion in dancing. Therefore it would be great if I could spread my passion in this healthy sport to the society as well. In order to understand further on the requirements I need for my chosen career path and also the challenges I might face in the future, the company I decided to interview is the owner of a dance company named Redmouse Dance Academy.
